Phenylketonuria PKU is a rare genetic disease. It influences the body's power to process an amino acid called phenylalanine. Frequently, the organs makes an enzyme known as phenylalanine hydroxylase, which transforms phenylalanine into tyrosine. In people who have PKU, this enzyme is function properly. As a result, phenylalanine builds up in the bo
